CARMONA-HANLEY, JANET LEE, of Pontiac, passed away December 27, 2020 at 83 years of age. She was born April 13, 1937 in Seattle, Washington to loving parents Felix Phil and Basyl Lydia Markus (nee Hoyle); beloved wife of Samuel Sanchez Carmona for over 20 years; cherished mother of Phillip Hanley, Karen Beamish, Grace Wylie, George (Sandra St. Clair) Hanley, and Linda (Ken) Hanley Slamka; proud grandmother of 11 and great grandmother of 19; dearest sister of Susan Blackburn. Janet proudly served her country in the United States Navy. Following her service, she earned her associates degree from Oakland Community College. Self taught, Janet learned to speak Spanish and would teach Spanish in the Pontiac Schools as a teacher's aid. She enjoyed playing piano; attending church faithfully; and infamous for her apple pies. Janet's smile and laugh was contagious and would brighten up any room. Her friendly, outgoing, and kind hearted spirit will be deeply missed by her family, friends and community.
