DONALDSON, JANET LOUISE, of Pontiac, passed away June 12, 2021 at 78 years of age. Janet was born February 24, 1943 in Pontiac, Michigan to loving parents Robert Clarence and Marion Viola Barnard (nee Ingalsbe); cherished mother of Sheila (Johnny) Sommers, Tom (Donna) Donaldson, and Rachele Hammes; proud grandmother of Aaron, Danyelle, Douglas, and William (Cassandra), and great grandmother of Eryn-Alexis, Andrew, Aubrey, Jimmy, Cameron, Gage, Will, and Arianna; dearest sister of Rosemary Barnard, Bonnie (Joe) Lenzen, Barb (Don) Ransom, and predeceased by her brother Bob Barnard; loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was so loving, she was also known to many simply as "Auntie," "Grandma Shorty," or "MeeMaw." After high school, Janet graduated from Detroit Bible College. Her courageous and giving spirit led her to serve as a missionary in Africa and she also helped to start the Women's Leadership Mission Board at Scott Lake Baptist Church with her sisters Rosemary and Bonnie. She dedicated her life to the church and even her beautiful singing voice that could bring you to tears. In her free time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles and FreeCell. Janet, her siblings, and her whole entire family had a bond that no one could break. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her. Janet's memorial service will be Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11 AM in the community center of the Oak Hill Estates trailer park (16971 Sleepy Hollow Rd. Holly, MI 48442).There will be a luncheon to follow.Inurnment will take place at Christian Memorial Cemetery.
