MORTIMER, JAMES "MORT", age 77, of Waterford, passed away December 24, 2022. He was born on September 11, 1945, In Detroit, Michigan, son to the late James William and Beatrice Mortimer (nee Ashby). Loving father of Jamie (Michael Cottrell) Mortimer Barnett and Michael James (MaryLynn) Mortimer; proud grandfather of Joshua, Morgan, Kolten and Kearsten, dear brother of Jeanette (Alan) Kivela and Judy Helgren; uncle of Michelle, Carl, Jeff, Jim, Matthew, Lisa and Lori.  Mort worked for General Motors for 30 + years. He was raised on Union Lake and enjoyed being on the water. A Memorial Gathering will take place on January 24, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 Pm at Coats Funeral Home, 3141 Sashabaw Road, Waterford. Memorial donations in Mort's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Kindly keep James and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
