Beloved husband of the late Shirley; loving father of Jennifer (Joseph) Locricchio, Matthew Hanoute, Lewis (Shanae) Hanoute; grandfather of Luccianna, Jilian, Luke, Gianna, Natalie, Nicholas and Anna; brother of Marilyn (the late Robert) Johnson, David (Dianne) Hanoute, and Patricia Jacobs. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Jim Hanoute was a remarkable man! He was born in Pontiac, Michigan and graduated from Pontiac High School and went on to graduate from the General Motors Institute. A longtime resident of Lake Orion, Michigan, Jim married the love of his life Shirley Gaultney of Pontiac, Michigan in 1959 and they were happily married until Shirley's passing in 2005. Jim's family owned and operated Al Hanoute Chevrolet-Buick in Lake Orion, Michigan for over 40 years. Jim made many friends as one of the best car salesmen in Michigan for over 60 years and was recognized as salesman of the year numerous times while completing his working career at John Bowman Chevrolet in Clarkston, Michigan following the sale of the family dealership. He loved playing cards and his frequent visits to the casino. Jim adored his family, his children, his grandchildren, his sisters and brother along with many his nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was a man that held true to his word and would always be there for family and friends no matter what. To know Jim was to love him and appreciate his warmth, integrity and his contagious laugh.
