Jacob was born on March 14, 1990 in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Clarkston High School in 2008. Jacob began playing hockey in his early childhood and continued to play into adulthood. Jacob loved his family and friends, his smile and sense of humor always lit up a room. Left to grieve his passing are his mother, Connie Riopelle (Don Duvan) of Clarkston; his father, Charles Riopelle of Taylor, Michigan; his longtime girlfriend, Lindsay Sawyer; his dog, Bauer; sister, Abbigail Riopelle (Colin Clements); brother, Zachary Riopelle; nephew, Caden Jacob; maternal grandparents, Don and Margie Cochran of Clawson; great grandmother, Doris Methner of Royal Oak and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Jacob had a lot of mentors and friends, who loved him, for that we are truly grateful.
