McCAMPBELL, JACK ROLAND, of Waterford, Michigan passed away February 8, 2020 at 86 years of age. Born on October 3, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Jack and Ruth McCampbell; beloved husband of Barbara McCampbell (nee Purinton) for 63 years; loving father of James (Cathy) McCampbell, the late Lawrence (Kathy) McCampbell, Douglas (Peggy) McCampbell and Linda Bowman; proud grandfather of 15 and great grandfather of 17; dear brother of Gary (Jenny), Clyde aka "Mac" and Maryanne. Jack graduated from High School in Deerfield, Wisconsin and decided to serve his country and join the United States Marine Corps. His duties were to protect nuclear weapons in Nevada during the Korean War. While in the Marines, on a blind date, he met the love of his life, Barbara and they both would attend Brigham Young University. He worked in various jobs such as; police officer in Gagetown, Michigan; other security positions throughout the state, and finally made a career as a quality control manager in the auto industry; and member of the American Legion. Jack had a great love for horses and he taught his kids how to ride. Jack and Barb also raised and showed collies. Jack really adored and appreciated his wife Barbara who was the glue that kept his family together. They were a great team. Jack will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
