Iris Jean Mick, age 91, of Waterford, passed away on February 3rd, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan. She was born on August 10th, 1932, in Oklahoma and was raised on her family's farm. Jean is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Cook and Carolyn Fields. She was a loving grandmother to Matthew, Michael, Amanda, Shannon, Kim, and many great and one great grandchild. Dearest sister of Howard (the late Roberta) Gosnell and Dennis (Pam) Gosnell. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Ken J. Mick, parents, Howard and Jewell Gosnell, as well as her two sons, Darrell Ray and Cary Dale, her great-grandchild, Rachelle Johnson, and sister Doris May Osborn. Jean was a very hard worker. While raising four children, she also waitressed at Devon Gables on Telegraph for many years, did custodial and food prep at the hospital, and her best job according to her grandchildren was delivery and stocking vending machines because they got the best snacks. In her free time, Jean loved cooking, reading, crocheting, doing puzzles, quilting, and sewing. She was a woman of great faith and was a parishioner at Lakecrest Baptist church in Waterford. A viewing will take place at Coats Funeral Home in Waterford, MI on Friday, February 9th, from 3 PM to 7 PM. The funeral service will follow the next day at 11 AM, with a luncheon to follow. Contributions in Jean's memory may be made to Jean's church, Lake Crest Baptist in Waterford, or to The National Stroke Association. May Jean's soul rest in peace, and may her loved ones find solace in the memories they shared.
