Alma Ilene Herdman of Waterford, MI, passed away on May 16, 2023, at the age of 90.  Ilene was born to parents, George and Jean Mathers on May 3, 1933, in Thedford, Ontario, Canada.  Ilene met the late John Carman Herdman at a roller skating rink in London, Ontario.  Unable to resist Carm's smooth moves, they were married in 1953, relocated to Michigan in 1955.  Ilene is survived by her four children, Allan Herdman of Fenton, MI, Jan Thorin (Ron) of Fenton, MI, Mark Herdman (Dawn) of Kennesaw, GA, Jeff Herdman (Deborah) of Cape Coral, FL.  Ilene was the proud Grandmother of ten Grandchildren, John, Luke, James, Larisa, David, Kristen, Victoria, Robert, Samantha, Adam, and three Great Grandchildren, Rylee, Fynn, Scottie.  Ilene was predeceased by her husband in 1999 and her beloved sister, Betty Moore, in 2011. Ilene will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend.  She was an active member of the West Bloomfield United Methodist Church where she enjoyed hosting coffee hours, Easter Breakfast, luncheons.  Many will remember her cake decorating and baking skills.  She was dedicated to tempting friends and family with sweet treats, and is renowned for her legendary raspberry tarts.
