SHIPLEY, HOWARD HARDING, of Waterford, passed away September 2, 2020 at 99 years of age. Born in Plymouth, Michigan son of the late Thomas Edward and Myrtle Mabel Shipley (nee Burden); loving husband of the late Pauline Frances Shipley for 49 wonderful years; dear father of Tom (Pam) Shipley and Nancy (Tom) Foltz; predeceased by 5 siblings; proud grandfather of 5 and great grandfather of 5. Howard was a veteran of the US Navy-WWII and Korean War; he was awarded the WWII Victory Metal, American Theatre Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Metal while serving from 1943 to 1951 at duty stations in Illinois, Iowa, Virginia, Florida and California where he boarded the USS Burden R. Hasting (DE-19) in the Pacific Ocean. By trade, Howard had a 39 year career at GM working in the machine shop. Howard met Pauline when he was in the Navy. In his free time he liked to do carpentry work. He enjoyed traveling. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
