pdied February 20, 2017 at 70 years of age. After his retirement from General Motors in 2002, Homer became an avid bass fisherman competing in NBAA and other bass fishing tournaments. He joined the Army in 1966, training in the Military Police Corps and received several commendations for his performance of duty while serving in Vietnam. He was predeceased by his father, Homer Mayberry Sr. and his mother Ruth Mayberry. He is survived by his wife and companion of 33 years Jeanne Mayberry, the mother of his children Sandy Gilliam, their daughter and son Julie (Craig) Decuir and Brian Mayberry; grandchildren Olivia amp; Lucas Decuir, and Owen Mayberry. He is also survived by his sisters Peggy (Mike) ke and Robin Mayberry, his brother Jerry Mayberry and nieces Joy and Melanie.
