KERZYKOWSKI, HELEN RITA, age 95 of Clarkston, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 1, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on October 10, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Leo and Ida (Rzeppa) Baranowski. Her family moved from Detroit to Memphis, Michigan when she was a young girl and she spent her early years growing up on the family farm during the Great Depression, later graduating from Memphis High School in 1945. In 1947 she married Henry Kerzykowski in Emmett, Michigan. A resident of Clarkston for nearly 75 years, Helen worked as a Nurse's Aid at Lourdes and a Catechism teacher for 30+ years at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. Helen and her family were founding members of Our Lady of the Lakes and she remained a faithful member since 1951. Most importantly, Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a doting homemaker, exceptionally talented at needlework, cooking, and baking. She was also extremely sweet and kind-hearted, with a particular fondness for children and animals (especially her cat, Perry). She is survived by five daughters: Rita (Jon) Bennett, Bernice (Ted) Wagg, Karen (the late Joel) Wilson, Teresa (Don) Regan, and Marykay (Tom) Curtis; seven grandchildren: Chris (Rob), Melyce (David), Michael, Emily (Stephen), Victoria, Daniel, and Matthew; six great grandchildren: Lucas, Caitlin, Samantha, Isobel, Aleaha, and Layla; sister-in-law, Frances Baranowski; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Kerzykowski, son, Daniel Kerzykowski, and six siblings. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 4-8pm with a Rosary Service at 4pm at COATS FUNERAL HOME – CLARKSTON. The family will receive visitors again at church on Tuesday, beginning at 9:30am. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church School or St. Vincent de Paul Society in honor of Helen.
