KANE, HELEN MAE age 91, of Waterford, passed away August 22, 2020. She was born on May 23, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan daughter of Theodor and Anastasia Karp (both immigrants from Ukraine); loving wife of the late John William Kane for 21 years; cherished mother of Douglas (Adelina) Kane, Paul Kane, Mary Pompeo and Lisa Kane; proud grandmother of Melissa, Jason, Maria, Evan and Anthony. Helen graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit. She met the love of her life as he captained the winning bowling team at the neighborhood bowling alley; she was widowed at only 43 with 4 children ages 20 to 3 yrs., but she persevered. She loved her family, her home, art and nature, in later years she had a great passion for her poetry class, for weekly walks in the park, and for stopping to feed the animals at Kensington Farm and Park. A Catholic service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 11 AM at Lakeview Cemetery (6150 White Lake Rd., Clarkston)
