Obituary

In Loving Memory of Hayden John George Huggins

October 21, 1978 – October 12, 2026

Hayden John George Huggins, age 47, passed away on October 12, 2026, just days before his 48th birthday. Born on October 21, 1978, Hayden grew up in Ortonville, Michigan, where he made cherished memories and formed lifelong connections. Immediately after graduation, he served four years in the United States Army.

Hayden leaves behind his beloved parents, Robert and Jane Huggins; his two beautiful children, Ethan and Ella Huggins; his loving sister, Halee (Dan) Sutton; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Morgan and Addison Tong, and Emerson Sutton, as well as a bonus nephew, Tyler Sutton, along with his Aunt Sue Bila.

Hayden had a wonderful sense of humor, a little bit of a stubborn streak, and a personality that was uniquely his own. He loved watching football, soccer, UFC fights, anything motorsports, and he could always find enjoyment in the simple things in life. Some of his most treasured moments were spent playing ping pong for hours in the barn with his dad, sharing friendly competition, laughter, and time together. Hayden was always up for playing a serious, competitive game of corn-hole as well at family gatherings. He also had a special love for the family dog, Louie, and enjoyed spending time playing with him.

Above all, Hayden will be remembered for the love he had for his family. He was a wonderful father and a special uncle whose presence meant so much to the children in his life. His children, nieces, and nephews will treasure the memories he created with them for years to come. Behind Hayden's humor and occasional stubbornness was a deeply thoughtful and loving heart. He had a special way of expressing himself through his text messages, often sending words that were heartfelt, meaningful, and filled with love. His messages were more than just words on a screen; they were little reminders of how much he cared. Those thoughtful messages will now become treasured keepsakes, offering comfort and a lasting reminder of his love.

Hayden's life was far too short, but the love he shared and the memories he leaves behind will last a lifetime. He will forever be a beloved son, father, brother, and uncle. Though our hearts are heavy with his passing, we find comfort in knowing our love for Hayden will never fade. He will live on in the stories we tell, the laughter we remember, the family traditions we carry on, and the hearts of everyone who loved him.

In honor of his love for the Detroit Lions and the University of Michigan, we invite everyone to wear their favorite team attire to the service.
