OWENS, HANK of Metamora, Michigan passed away December 1, 2021 at 80 years of age; born in Brakes, Virginia son of Thelma Childress; beloved husband of Rose Mary Coulter-Owens (nee McLennan ) for 20 wonderful years; cherished step-father of Scott Edens; father of Jason and Richard Owens; and step-father of Bridgette (Brent) Coulter- Houghton and Greg (Amanda Fox) Coulter; proud grandfather of Kaylynn Coulter and Isabell Houghton and Paige and the late Maddison Edens; dearest cousin of Robert (Marie Frances) Owens; and his loving fury companion Bandit who went way to soon. Hank proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked and retired out of the United States Postal Service after 30 years. He met the love of his life Rose Mary when they both were working for the Oakland Press and they married December 14, 2001. In his free time, Hank loved fishing, reading the newspaper, playing scrabble with his wife, traveling around the country especially to the Carolinas, Hilton head, and visiting the Rainbow River Club in Florida. His mini obsession was anything to do with trains, especially the H O Trains. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community. Funeral service will take place Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:30 AM at COATS FUNERAL HOME – CLARKSTON, 8909 Dixie Hwy. Family will receive friends from 10 AM until the service begins.
