Obituary

NELSEY, GLENN LEASER, age 96 of Waterford, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021. He was born on October 15, 1924 in Pontiac to parents Tinmun and Vera (Buzzard) Nelsey. Glenn proudly served in the US Army during WWII in Saipan, Japan. He retired from the Oakland Press in 1985 after 34 years of service. Glenn enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, building houses, and traveling, especially to Alaska. He was an avid Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions fan and loved watching all sports. More than anything, Glenn loved his family. Glenn is survived by his children: Dennis Forslund, Kurt (Monica) Nelsey, and Denise (Dave) Sanders, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents; wife, Maxine Nelsey; sisters: Arvilla (Jim) Sheldon, Ellen (Ronald) Rumble, and Elaine (George) Robson. A funeral service will take place at 12 noon on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at COATS FUNERAL HOME – WATERFORD. Pastor Dan Wine officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, two hours prior to the service, beginning at 10am. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to Canterbury on the Lake in Waterford in honor of Glenn.
