EDWARDS, GERTRUDE MAY, age 97, of Waterford, passed away December 16, 2023. She was born on January 9, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Arthur and Florence Kassel. Loving wife of the late Richard V. Edwards, Jr.; dear mother of Charlotte Isanhart, Paul (Alice) Edwards, and Vickie (John) Legel; proud grandmother of 8; Sister of Joan Matties, and Roy (Roxanne Kassel). Her legacy will be carried on by multiple generations of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her siblings Richard (Alexa) Kassel, Dorothy Spivey, Donald Kassel, Raymond Kassel, Robert Kassel and Marlene Kassel. Gertrude worked as a stock clerk for the J.L. Hudson Company for many years. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Redford, Michigan. Gertrude volunteered her time as a foster parent with Lutheran Children's Friend Society. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, 12:00 Noon at Coats Funeral Home-Waterford. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment Glen Eden Cemetery in Livonia, Michigan. Memorial donations in Gertrude's name may be made to Lourdes Rehab and Nursing Home.
