TOVEY, GERALDINE "GERRIE" MABEL, age 83, of Waterford, passed away on July 10, 2021. She was born on June 1, 1938, in Lapeer, Michigan. Loving mother to Richard Lee Tovey, John Tovey, Rick T. Tovey, Scott Tovey, and Tonia (Nehemiah) Minor; proud grandmother of Ashley Tovey, Malissa Covey, Christina Metcalf, Ricky Tovey Jr., Terence Tovey, Stephen Tovey, and Dominic Martin; great-grandmother of 9; dearest sister of Beatrice Anderson, Frances Newman, Lura Villeneuve, Dick Joslin, and 9 other brothers and sisters; preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Mabel Joslin (nee Kollien), and her son, Micheal Tovey. In her free time, Gerrie loved to play bingo and cards, complete word searches, and play board games such as Yahtzee. Gerrie especially loved butter pecan ice cream, Elvis Presley, church, country music, and the color blue. She also loved to watch television shows such as The Price Is Right and the ION Television channel. Whenever Gerrie was visited, her family always knew to stop and get her some chicken nuggets with some sweet and sour sauce. Gerrie will be remembered as an avid bowler, as she bowled in many tournaments throughout her life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gerrie's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Gerrie was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
