Gerald Allen Gorsline, 51, of Clarkston, Michigan, passed away on November 29, 2024. Born on October 28, 1973, to Douglas Gorsline and the late Deborah (Simmons) Gorsline, Gerald lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and an unwavering dedication to helping others. Known for his selflessness, Gerald was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back. Whether lending a hand at a moment's notice or ensuring the well-being of those around him, his caring nature touched everyone he met. Gerald was incredibly creative and expressed his talents through drawing and painting. He had a knack for crafting the most beautiful holiday decorations, which brought joy to those around him. For birthdays, Gerald made sure every decoration reflected the uniqueness of the person he celebrated, creating unforgettable moments of love and appreciation. Gerald's greatest joy in life was his family, particularly his son, Jalen, who was the light of his life. He shared a close bond with his father, Douglas, and stepmother, Vicki, as well as his brother and best friend, Jeff. Gerald and Jeff shared a love of music, attending countless concerts together, with Tim McGraw and Rod Stewart among their favorites. A jack of all trades and a talented handyman, Gerald worked in construction, where his exceptional skills and creativity stood out. His outgoing personality and warm heart earned him many cherished friendships, and those who knew him couldn't help but love him. Gerald is survived by his son, Jalen Gorsline; soulmate, Yvette Saylor; father, Doug (Vicki) Gorsline; brother, Jeff Gorsline; stepbrother, Jakob (Nicole) Black; stepsister, Stacy (Ed) Smith; niece, Danielle Gorsline; and many beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Deborah Gorsline. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., at Coats Funeral Home, 3141 Sashabaw Rd., Waterford, MI 48329. Pastor Shane Bengry will officiate.
