Obituary

TERCHA, GARRY C., of Clarkston, passed away August 17, 2020 at 73 years of age. Born in Detroit, Michigan son of the late Andrew and Mary Tercha (nee Gurgul); loving husband of Jeannette for 46 years; dear father of "daddy's girl" Stephanie (Przemyslaw) Wierzbicki; grandfather of Gabriel, Anastasia, and Magdalena; brother of Richard (the late Joan) Tercha and the late Andrew (the late Claudia) Tercha, Jr.; uncle of Ramona, Linda, Debra, and Laura and beloved brother-in-law to John and Robin Rzepka. Garry was a veteran of the US Navy-Vietnam and Bronze Star recipient, he served from 1968 to 1972 on the aircraft carrier Enterprise and the USS Lacerne tank carrier. By trade, Garry had a 30 year career in manufacturing and production specializing in sheet metal, pipe fitting, welding, and production inspector. At home, he was "Dad Tercha" to everyone and welcomed all who came to the "neighborhood". Two things in his life he was particular about were his hair and his coffee. A gentle and quiet man, with actions bigger than life; thoughtful and respectful; accepting of everyone, no matter what; and generous with his time. His family was precious to him, and the perfect "Manny" helping raise his grandchildren. His quiet presence in the room will be dearly missed by all who loved him. An outdoor Memorial will be held Sunday, August 30, at Oakland County Sportsman Club (4770 Waterford Rd.) from 1:30 - 5:00 PM with a service beginning at 2 PM and a light lunch following. If sending flowers, please send to Oakland County Sportsmans Club (Saturday between 12p - 5p or Sunday between 10a - 12p).
