Obituary

Gail Maureen McLauchlin, a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, devoted pet owner, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, at the age of 78.Gail was the beloved wife of Ronald “Kirk” McLauchlin, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage until his passing in 2010. She was the loving mother of Todd (Kate) McLauchlin and their daughters, Madeline and Abigail; and Chad (Gwen) McLauchlin and their children, Ethan, Landon, and Kendall. Gail found joy in family, gardening, flowers, bowling, playing euchre at the Clarkston Senior Center, and cherished monthly gatherings with both “the cousins” and her lifelong high school friends, occasions filled with laughter, friendship, and treasured memories. A lifelong lover of flowers and gardening, Gail held many jobs throughout her life but spent much of it tending to plants at local nurseries. She found joy in helping things grow and sharing her love of flowers with others. Gail ended her working years at Wojo's Greenhouse in Ortonville, a fitting place for someone whose appreciation for nature remained a lifelong passion. An avid animal lover, Gail was a devoted pet owner who found comfort and companionship in her beloved cocker spaniel, Daisy. Following the death of her husband, Daisy became her faithful companion, bringing Gail comfort, joy, and unconditional love for many years. Known for her kind heart and devotion to family, Gail especially treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren. She took great pride in caring for her granddaughters each evening in their home, sharing in their daily lives and creating a special bond that will be treasured forever. Her warmth, generosity, and selflessness will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. A Celebration of Gail's Life will be held at a later date.
