CORBETT, FRANK, age 85 of Clarkston, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2022. He was born on October 19, 1937 in Edinburgh, Scotland to the late George and Sarah (McVay) Corbett. Frank upon graduating _St Anthony's High School served in the Royal Naval Reserves for nearly five years. He met the love of his life Margaret at the Palais de Danse in Edinburgh in 1956 and together they started a beautiful life together, marrying in 1960. Frank wanted a better life for his family; after answering a job for a machinist in Southfield, MI, he packed his bags with $60 in his pocket and left for America, April 1965. After saved enough  money and rented a  home, he sent for his wife and daughter to come and embark on a new adventure with him, August 1965. In 1967 he went to work in skilled trades as a machinist for Chrysler and did so for 34 years until his well-deserved retirement. He was a very accomplished man, highly intelligent, a gentleman, and had a fun sense of humor. Frank enjoyed sailing, golf, shuffleboard & cycling all over England, Scotland, Michigan & Arizona; riding tandem bikes with his wife Margaret when they were young, and of course reading.  His knowledge of world history was scholarly and he was a great story teller. Frank's humble nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret (Edgar) Corbett; daughter, Andrea (Mark) Egnash; granddaughter, Chelsey Coburn; brother, Morris Corbett. He was preceded in death by siblings: George Corbett and Sadie Corbett. A funeral service will take place at 12 noon on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at COATS FUNERAL HOME – CLARKSTON, with visitation from 11am – 12pm. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 4-8pm. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery @White Lake Rd and Dixie Hwy.
