Obituary

WEGMANN, FERDINAND "FRED", age 80, of Pontiac, passed away after a valiant battle with Covid-19 on February 8, 2021. He was born on February 16, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan, son to the late Ferdinand Carl And Mary Rose Wegmann (nee Mancini); loving husband of Linda Wegmann (nee Adcock) for 43 wonderful years; dear father of Karen (David) Melbardis, Matthew (Rhonda) Dickinson, and Timothy (Crystal) Bedford; proud grandfather of Jacqueline (Aaron) Melbardis-Cruse and Grant Bedford; loving brother of Barbara (Mike) Nuhn, Louie Najarin, and Tom (Franda) Wegmann. Before retirement Fred had worked on the assembly line for General Motors Truck and Bus division for 38 years. Fred was a man of God as he came to trust the lord at an early age by attending church, where he was popularly known as the "man in the red coat". Fred belonged to Apostolic Church of Christ of Auburn Hills for 35 years and was an active usher at the Liberty Baptist Church of Auburn Hills. Fred had a great sense of humor and always had a joke to tell. He accepted everyone for who they were, Fred truly never knew a stranger. Fred will be remembered as a wonderful father to his children, this started when he had met his wife, Linda on a blind date. In his spare time, Fred loved to follow sports teams, such as the Detroit Tigers. Fred will be laid to rest at Christian Memorial Cultural Gardens in Rochester Hills. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the memory of JoJo Hicks to the U of M Children's Hospital. Kindly keep Fred and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
