O'SHAUGHNESSY, EVELYN M. (nee Winters) of Orchard Lake, passed away November 12, 2019 at 88 years of age. Dear sweet wife of the late Nelson Glen O'Shaughnessy for 61 years; loveable mom to Dorothy Mae O'Shaughnessy, Glenda Marie (Dale) Moore, and Janell Lyn (Ed) Umscheid; grandma to Jay Fine, Amber (Matt) Kovaleski, DJ Howard, and Devin Holcomb; great grandma of Jack and Leo Kovaleski; sister in law of Wayne (the late MaryEllen) O'Shaughnessy, Lester (Barbara) O'Shaughnessy, and Gerald (Leanah) O'Shaughnessy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews; family friend Tim Holcomb; lifetime childhood friends Betty Howell and Jeanie Golding. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Hilda (nee Kesala) Winters; siblings and spouses Charles (Mary) Winters, Robert (MaryEllen) Winters, and Ruth, aka Oopie (Al) Wedge; brother in laws Junior, Earl, and Marshall O'Shaughnessy. Evelyn worked as a blueprint manager for Art Craft before the birth of her girls. She went back to work for Source One Mortgage Corp in 1980 and retired in 1992. Evelyn was instrumental in the raising of her grandsons DJ and Devin. Evelyn and Nelson enjoyed many family vacations following the Detroit Tigers throughout the years. She rarely missed watching or listening to a Tigers game. Evelyn will be dearly missed by family and friends, and the corner she lived on in Orchard Lake for almost 80 years will never be the same.
