MILLER, EUGENE ALBERT, of Waterford, most recently of Lake Orion, passed away March 10, 2020 at 90 years of age. Born March 27, 1929 in Holton, Kansas son of the late James and Lela Miller (nee Haeffele); beloved husband of the late Patricia (Wagner) Miller for 56 years; survived by siblings Melvin Miller, Clifford (Sue) Miller, Richard Miller and Roger (Sally) Miller; predeceased by siblings Cecil Miller and Delmer Miller; proud uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews.Gene was raised in Fall City, Nebraska and then moved to Pontiac in 1946. Once as a child he remembered watching the bomber planes swarm the sky on their way to Europe during WW II and from that day on he knew he would serve his country and had a great love for military style aircraft, an obsession that gave him the ability to recall any aircraft used in war. He was a veteran in the United States Army and received 4 Bronze Star medals for his service during the Korean War. Gene retired after 34 years of service from GM Truck & Coach. He was an active member with the AmVets Bemis- Olsen Post 113 in Pontiac and also a member of the VFW- Post 1008 Heart of the Lakes in Waterford. He ushered at St. Benedict Catholic Church for over 40 years. A lovable guy with a great sense of humor and was infamous for ending the conversation with "ok Jose".
