Elizabeth Dobbie Mitchell, of Clarkston, passed away on August 13, 2026, at the age of 87. Elizabeth was born on March 10, 1939, in Royal Oak, Michigan, to Charles and Elizabeth (Hutney) Dobbie. After graduating from Dondero High School in Royal Oak, Elizabeth met the love of her life, Arthur Mitchell. The two were married in July 1964 and shared many wonderful years together.

Elizabeth dedicated more than 40 years of her life to Ford Motor Credit before retiring. In retirement, she enjoyed the things that brought her the most happiness. She loved spending time at her cottage on Mullett Lake and looked forward to escaping the Michigan winters as a snowbird, spending time in Anna Maria Island, Florida. Elizabeth was a beautiful and striking woman who carried herself with grace and warmth. She was known for her generous heart and her willingness to give to others. In her free time, she enjoyed reading novels and magazines, especially Western and cowboy novels. She also loved bird watching and, above all, adored her cats.

Elizabeth will be deeply missed by her loving nieces and nephews and by her siblings, Karen and John, along with many other family members and friends who were fortunate to know and love her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur Mitchell; her parents, Charles and Elizabeth Dobbie; her siblings, Carol, Charlie, and Bill; and her stepsister, Marilyn.

Elizabeth leaves behind a lifetime of memories and the love of many who cherish her memory. She will be remembered for her beauty, generosity, independence, and the simple joys she found in the places and people she loved.
