HURST, ELINOR JANE, age 88, of Pontiac, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 24, 1933 in English, West Virginia to parents Jerome R. and Eunice Hancock (Kitts); beloved wife of the late Esco Hamilton Hurst for 61 wonderful years; cherished mother of Gail (Jack Ozbun) Shastal and preceded in death by son David Hurst; proud grandmother of Tonya, David, Roger Lipka, Tammy (Robert) Moss, and Mary (Chris) Curtis; great grandmother to: Zachary Lipka, Brittney (Justin) Francisco, Breanna Cameron (Lester), Justin Moss, Ashely (Ted) King, Joshua Lipka, Jamie Lipka; loving sister of the late Randy Hancock and the late Tommy and Bobby Lucas. Elinor was always dressed to impress and took good care of herself. Elinor had an immense love for animals – she even had woodchucks that would visit her on her porch regularly. She had an unmatched bond with her cat and companion, Little Buddy, and her two previous cats, Bear and Lady. She also loved flowers and she especially loved her family and friends. Elinor's love and faithfulness for Jehovah and ministry spanned over 59 years. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at COATS FUNERAL HOME – WATERFORD. The family will receive visitors two hours prior to the service, beginning at 11am.
