Obituary

MICOL, Edward Theodore, age 79 of Waterford, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. He was born on December 15, 1942 in Newark, NJ to the late Theodore and Evelyn (Dearborn) Micol. Edward served in the US Army and later worked for Oakland County for over 30 years. He was a car enthusiast and his true passion was hot rods. Eddie was a member of the Michigan Hot Rods Association, National Hot Rods Association, Shifters Car Club, and Knights of the Road Motorcycle Club. He built, drove, and restored countless numbers of cars and was the winner of the prestigious Riddler Award.

Eddie is survived by his daughter, Tracey Micol; sister, Evie Micol; great grandson, Payton Johnson-Micol; sister-in-law Linda, who was pivotal to his care; and his closest lifelong friends: Bob Pousho and Bob "Gorkie" (Judy) Gorham; and estranged grandson, Bernard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Micol; son, Curt Micol; brother, Warren Mason, and grandson, Joshua Johnson.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 1-5pm at Shark Club (6665 Highland Rd., Waterford). Those who would like to bring a dish or dessert to pass are welcome to, and those who want to bring their hot rod are encouraged to do so!
