Obituary

MACADAEG, EDWARD G. of Waterford, went home to be with Jesus on April 20, 2020 at 82 years of age. Loving husband of Marilyn for 50 years; dear father of Keri (Ricks) Macadaeg-Warren, Kevin (Kristi) Macadaeg, Ken (Debbie) Macadaeg, Kyle Macadaeg, Kip (Brittany) Macadaeg, and the late Kriston "Kelly Bubs" Macadaeg; grandfather of Abby (Josh), Chloé, Edward Jr. "Eddie", Cole, Caleb, Eliana, Christian, Autumn (Greg), Paige (Kevin), Kallaway, and Kopelin; great grandfather of Madelyn and Andi ; brother of Ronald (Sandy) Macadaeg and the late Joan Davis (Glen). Edward was a veteran of US Army where he played the clarinet for the military band. He would have a lifelong passion for music, a passion he would pass on to his children with family music appreciation nights. Not only was he a musician, he was a life-long skilled trade tool and die maker, carpenter, builder, mechanic, golfer, and avid tennis player. With unconditional love he was always available to his children, day or night; he could soothe a fussy baby and enjoy a simple "happy hour" at home. Consistent with his values, Edward always said, "busy hands are happy hands". Working full time, Edward rebuilt a small cottage on Watkins Lake that included his own music room. Known as "Popsie" to everyone, Eddie had an amazing sense of humor. He always brought joy to people's lives and made everyone smile. He always said that he had a good day when he made someone smile. He also said that he whistled to work every day (47 years at GM and 10 post-retirement years at Genisys) which was a sign of his happy and easy-going character. A New Orleans style celebration of his life will be at a later date. Burial will be at Andersonville Cemetery in Springfield Township.
