HICE, EDWARD LEE "EDDY" of Grand Blanc, formerly of Southgate passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on December 31, 2022 at 78 years of age. Loving husband of Marilyn (née Sharette) for 56 years; loving father of Andrea (William) Harvey and Elizabeth (Steven) Mancini; grandfather of Amanda, Samuel, Lillian, and Alexander; brother of Betty Walling; uncle to many special nieces and nephews. Eddy was a proud Marine serving during Vietnam and retired from Ford Motor Co. after 32 years of service. Upon his retirement, Eddy enjoyed spending time at his lake home boating and fishing. Most importantly he enjoyed the time he spent with his family. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather he fought heroically against several health issues and his family is comforted in knowing he is in heaven and at peace. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 12 noon at COATS FUNERAL HOME-CLARKSTON. Family will receive family and friends Saturday 11 AM until time of service at 12 PM. Burial will take place at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Memorial donations may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Parkinson's Foundation.
