of Waterford, passed away August 22, 2019 at 73 years of age. Husband of Elizabeth Hook (nee Phelan); brother of Don Hook and Lois (Ronald) Schroeder. Preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ruth (nee Heddrick) and brothers, Richard and Ronald. Survived by his beloved dog. Earl was a 1964 graduate of Waterford Kettering High School where he excelled in athletics and would earn a scholarship to Hillsdale College in track and field. With a degree in education, and two masters degrees, Earl returned to Waterford as a teacher and coach for 27 years, retiring in 1993. In his retirement, he opened World Gym in Lake Orion, and would finish as a personal trainer at Great Lakes Athletic Club. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 2 PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD. The family will receive friends Saturday 12 noon until time of service at 2 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Michigan Animal Rescue League.
