He was born in Pontiac, MI on September 18, 1929 to Willard W. and Hazel N. La Turneau. Duane was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Honorably Discharged in September, 1949. He worked at the GM Proving Grounds as a Test Driver for 42 years, retiring in September, 1991. He was an avid bowler, golfer, loved the Tigers, Lions and Redwings and took pride in working on family and friends vehicles over the years. He took pride in the maintenance of his home, yard and especially his vehicles. He loved his family and was a friend to everyone he met. Duane was the loving husband of the late Bernadine M.; loving father of Karen (Alan) Coutts, Ruth La Turneau, Thomas La Turneau, Kevin La Turneau, Katherine (Charles) Tanner and Suzette (Harry) Green; special grandfather of Michael (Kelly) Jensenius, Allison (Tina) Inman, Msgt. Brian (Vannessa) Jensenius, Alex Seppala, Sara La Turneau, Aimee La Turneau-Hagen, Genevieve Greene and Sheridan Greene; Great-grandfather of AIC Nathanial Tessner, PVT Zachary Tessner, Joshua Jensenius, Myrisa Jensenius, Alizabeth Jordan, Abigail Jordan, Oliva Jensenius, Brady Jensenius and Ryan Pease. He is also survived by siblings Marion (Joseph) Gonzales and Clayton (Beverly) La Turneau and a host of loving relatives and friends.
