It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dorothy Lee Mendoza (nee Schnake), aged 67, of Lapeer, Michigan. Dorothy was born on November 17, 1956, in Pontiac, Michigan, Oakland County, to Edward Lee Schnake and Sheridan Sue Schnake (Beach). Dorothy is preceded in death by her siblings Denise Diane Sparkman, Charles Gilbert Schnake, and Mark Edward Schnake. She is survived by her sister, Victoria Lynn Schlichting, and brother Edward Lee Schnake II. She was the beloved wife of Guadalupe Mendoza Jr. and the devoted mother to Courtney Ann Campbell (spouse Richard Neal Campbell) and Spencer David William Burt (spouse Ashley Rae Burt). Dorothy was also the cherished grandmother to Skyler David Bennett (spouse Angelina Garcia-Campbell), Abigail Leanne Campbell, Ayla Quinn Burt, Lincoln Miles Burt, Brianna Lynn Campbell, and Zoè Lynn Parker. She leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Skylynn Marie Garcia-Campbell and Laiklyn Elaine Rimer. She also leaves behind her beloved stepchildren for whom she loved as her own, Sarah Matice, Heather Mendoza, Guadalupe Mendoza III and Rachel Brooks and many step grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart. Dorothy's life was filled with joy and passion. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening, and attending Riverbend Church in Austin, TX, online every Sunday. Above all, she treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren, and she loved her Friday dinners out with her husband. Her kindness, generosity, and most of all, her loud, contagious laugh will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Riverbend Church in Austin, TX, as no funeral or memorial service will be scheduled. Arrangements entrusted to Coats Funeral Home-Waterford. Kindly keep Dorothy and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
