BORK, DORIS, of Auburn Hills, passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2026, at 70 years of age.

Doris was the loving wife of the late Gregory Bork for 41 years; cherished mother of Matthew Bork, Anthony Bork, Alexandra (Nathanial Martinez) Bork, and Nicole (Ken Irwin III) Bork; and proud grandmother of Sophia and Rosalie.

She was the dear sister of Liz (Elmer) Austin, Blue (Darrel) Watson, Damron Maggard, Sue (Steve) Meyers, Foster (Debbie) Maggard Jr., Ann O'Rourke, and Mae Mullins. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Foster and Marie (née Church) Maggard, and her siblings, Jackie Maggard, Jesse Maggard, Helen Frederick, and Rene Maggard.

Born in Dorton, Kentucky, Doris and her family eventually made their way north to Michigan, drawn by the opportunities provided by the automotive industry. It was in Michigan that Doris met the love of her life, Gregory, and together they built a beautiful family and raised their four children.

Doris worked for MSX International in for 12 years. Following the housing market crash, she embraced the opportunity to spend meaningful time supporting her children through their high school graduations. She later returned to the workforce doing what she loved-interior design and painting -until COVID-19. She was a talented woman with an incredible eye for design and loved interior decorating and remodeling. There wasn't much she couldn't do, and when Doris took on a project, she was all in. She had the ability to envision what a space could become and the determination and creativity to make it happen.

But Doris's greatest accomplishment was always her family. She was deeply family-oriented and made it a priority to be there whenever she was needed. Whether someone needed help, encouragement, or simply a familiar face beside them, Doris showed up. She was attentive to the needs of those she loved and gave freely of her time and energy.

Those who knew Doris will remember her beautiful smile, which seemed to come naturally and often. She approached life with warmth, enthusiasm, and a willingness to give her all. Her generosity, creativity, and devotion to her family were woven into everything she did.

Doris will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and many friends. Her legacy lives on in the family she loved so fiercely, the home she made beautiful, and the countless ways she showed the people around her that they mattered.
