Donald J. Seeterlin, age 91 of Waterford, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. He was born on September 20, 1931 in Waterford to late parents, Albert and Grace (Montgomery) Seeterlin. Don, along with his wife Gerry, were charter members of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish and one of the first couples married there. Over the years, Don served as an Usher, Eucharistic Minister, President of the Parish Council, and a charter member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and attended a least one Tigers game a year for 85 straight years. He also played baseball and softball for many years. He was a big believer in blood donation and donated over 30 gallons during his lifetime. Don was a lifelong Waterford resident. After retiring from his career as a car hauler, he and Gerry loved to travel. They spent 24 winters as snowbirds in Gulf Shores, AL where he and Gerry were very involved in the Michigan Club. They organized many events, including blood drives and charitable fundraisers. They also spent many summers in Caseville at their trailer, where many good times with family were enjoyed. They both enjoyed family parties and reunions, eating out, and long scenic drives around Michigan. Don is survived by his loving wife and childhood sweetheart of over 72 year, Geraldine "Gerry" Seeterlin; his seven children: Patty (Bob) Kopacz, Mickey (Ted) Ginn, Don (the late Robin) Seeterlin, Ginny Seeterlin, Mary Thomas, Bill (Kim) Seeterlin, Julie (Tim) Jagmin; 20 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Tom Seeterlin, and his siblings, Ellen, Ray, and Jim. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Waterford, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 12-3pm and 5-8pm with a Rosary Service at 7pm at COATS FUNERAL HOME – WATERFORD. The family will receive visitors again on Monday at church, one half hour prior to mass, beginning at 9:30am. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery. Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to Alzheimer's Association or Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in honor of Don.
