MacALPINE, DONALD L. of Clarkston, passed away November 30, 2022 at 83 years of age. Loving husband of Judy (née Lougheed) for 58 years; cherished father of Shelly (Kevin) Troutt and Tracy (Reny) Gasparott; grandfather of Dylan, Evan, and Olivia; twin brother of Ronald (Lynda) MacAlpine, brother of Wayne (the late Pat) MacAlpine, Carol (Harry) Dwire, and Colin MacAlpine; preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Pearl (née Morley) MacAlpine. Don was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Pontiac Motor in skilled trades in 1997 after 35 years of service. A true car enthusiast who enjoyed tinkering with his cars and washing his cars, as well as, Woodward Dream Cruise and car shows. Don could get lost for hours working on his two and a half acre yard or tinkering in the barn that served as his own little man cave. When Don is not in the yard or the barn, he enjoyed NASCAR; Detroit sports; and gazing out at the lake in Caseville. He will be dearly miss by all who loved him. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 1 PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-CLARKSTON. Family will receive friends Tuesday 11 AM until time of service. Burial will take place at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Memorials may be made in Don's memory to the American Lung or American Heart Associations.
