Donald Scott
Hrcka
Feb 25, 1942 — Apr 8, 2026
Donald Scott Hrcka, age 84, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to family. Born on February 25, 1942, Donald lived a life marked by deep commitment to his country, his community, and above all, to those he loved most. He was the beloved and devoted husband of Geri, with whom he shared a lifetime of partnership, laughter, and enduring love. Together, they built a strong and loving family, raising their children, Scott (Linda) Hrcka and Heather (Troy) Kumprey, who carry forward his values and spirit. Don was a proud and loving grandfather to Elaina, Alyssa, Mayella, and Evie June, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride. He was a cherished brother to his three sisters; Judy, Nancy, and Betty, and carried with him the memory of his late brother, Kenny, whose loss at a young age shaped Don's deep appreciation for family and resilience throughout his life. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Don served his country with honor and carried that pride with him always. His commitment to service continued through his membership in the American Legion, where he found camaraderie and purpose among fellow veterans. Don found great joy in the outdoors. Whether hunting, golfing, or fishing, he felt most at peace surrounded by nature. One of his most treasured traditions was the annual fishing trip to Gladwin with "The Smallwood Crew," a time filled with laughter, storytelling, and lasting memories. Don will be remembered for his quiet strength, his steady presence, and the deep love he had for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and integrity that will live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, sisters, many nieces and nephews, and friends.
