IMBRUNONE, DOLORES JOSEPHINE "Dolly", age 81 passed away after a short illness on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. She was born on September 13, 1938 to Peter & Marion Imbrunnone. Dolly was the couple's fourth of six children. She is survived by her brother John (Sylvia) Imbrunnone and sister Grace Imbrunone. (these are not typos, some birth certificates spelled the last name with one "n", while others had two). Dolly is predeceased in death by her siblings Salvatore Imbrunone, Michael Imbrunnone and Sara Jane Imbrunone. Dolly graduated from the University of Michigan in 1970 with a Master's in Education with a major in Guidance and Counseling. She loved children and was blessed to have been the Aunt to 13 nieces and nephews, Great Aunt 10 times and Great Great Aunt of three boys. Her love of children and their wellbeing inspired her to become the Co-founder of Cedar Crest Academy that opened in Clarkston, Michigan in 1984. Cedar Crest Early Childhood Center was later opened. Dolly was an amazing educator and communicator. To know her was to love her. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, chatting with family and friends. She was like a second mother to all of her nieces and nephews, guiding them along the way. She was a very generous woman, and was able to help many people and causes. She shared wonderful family stories and embraced her Italian heritage. Dolly will be truly missed by her family, friends and students. A private funeral service will take place on June 5, 2020 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Benedict's Catholic Church. The service will be live streamed on youtube.com search St. Benedict Waterford Memorial Services. Dolly will be laid to rest at Ottawa Park Cemetery in Clarkston.
