HUMPHREYS, DOLORES J. age 91, of Waterford, MI, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on September 28, 2022.  Dolores was born on December 9, 1930 in Hazel Park, MI and later moved to Pontiac where she graduated from Pontiac High School in 1948. She and the late Gerald Humphreys were married on April 14, 1951 and were married 65 years. After working at Fisher Body where she met her future husband, raising 8 children, and doing volunteer work at Leggett Elementary School, she went back into the business world. She loved spending 10 years as a Proof  Department Vice President at Pontiac State Bank. She was a longtime parishioner and hospitality volunteer at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Waterford. They made their home in a neighborhood full of families that are still close. She was active in her 'Club' a group of more than a dozen friends from high school. They met monthly for nearly 74 years. Dolores was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, godmother, aunt, and friend.  Left to cherish all the memories are her children: Susan Vaughn (Gregory), Cynthia Thomas (Brent), Doreen Durrschmidt (the late James), Gerald Humphreys, Jr. (Nancy), James Humphreys (Christine), Joseph Humphreys, John Humphreys (Rebecca), Jeffrey Humphreys (Sara); 40 grandchildren and their spouses; 33 great grandchildren and spouse; and 1 great great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and all of her extended family and friends. She is survived by her sister Gloria (Opie) Humphreys (the late Joseph). Dolores was preceded in death by her parents Milton and Blanche (nee Brisson) Opie; siblings Milton Opie, Jr. (Jeanette), Marion Dawson (Charles), Charles Opie (Donna), Arlene Burch (John), and Nina Abate (Leonard); son in law James Durrschmidt; and grandson Gregory Vaughn, Jr. Funeral Mass Monday, October 3, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 80 S. Lynn Street, Waterford. In state Monday 10 AM at church. Family will receive friends Sunday 3-8 PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD. Rosary Sunday at 7:30 PM. Memorials may be made to Society of St. Vincent De Paul or Right to Life of Michigan.
