Obituary

Pdied July 12, 2012 at home with her family by her side. She had been ill following a diagnosis of lung cancer in July 2010. Dee was born July 11, 1937 at Fort Lewis Military Base in Seattle, Washington to Gregory and Violet Diaz. Her family was stationed in Washington state, Gainesville, Florida, Denver, Colorado, and Biloxi, Mississippi where she graduated from Biloxi High School. She attended Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Flroida. While living in Sterling Heights, Michigan she was a member of the original Cleanup the Clinton River Committee, a library mother at J.V. Messmore Elementary School and a Brownie co-leader. Dee's permanent residence was in Davisburg, Michigan where she and her loving, long time companion Donald Sim built their home. After retiring from 25 years at West Bloomfield Twonship, she spent winters in Malabar, Florida where she enjoyed golfing, quilting and the beach. Survivors inlcue brother Gregory T. Diaz; two sons JB and Gregory; frou grandchildren Alec, Gregory, Cecilia, Amy; Donald Sim and out of state nieces and nephew.
