SHONK, DENNIS EDWARD passed away on July 10, 2023, at 72 years old. Dennis was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 2, 1950, to parents Edward Ernest and Marjorie Elizabeth Shonk (nee Tibble); cherished father of Kelly (Mike) Lindberg, Eileen (Will) Reid, Matthew (Lauren) Shonk, and Jon (the late Sherri) Shonk; proud grandfather of Henrik, Heidi, Olivia, Madeline, Theodore, Kaitlyn and Mackenzie; dearest brother of Ken (Colleen) Shonk and Tom (Debbie) Shonk. After graduating from Port Huron High School, Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Thailand and Kentucky. Upon completion of his military service, he received an associate degree from RETS Technical Institute. He was a hard worker and was employed for Key Communications and NeoPost until he retired. In his free time, he was a faithful Detroit sports fan, former Boy Scout troop leader, and had an incredible green thumb. His great sense of humor and quick wit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The family wish to extend their gratitude to the Beaumont medical team for their extraordinary kindness and care.
