GREEN, DENNIS RAY of Clarkston passed away on July 5, 2021 at age 79, with his family at his side. Dennis was born October 3, 1941 in Thief River Falls, MN to parents, Deforest S. Green and Maybelle (Rife) Green, joining one brother, Dalen. His family remained in Thief River Falls and Dennis graduated from Lincoln High School in 1959 and continued his drafting/engineering education at University of North Dakota while working at Forsberg's in Thief River Falls, and in 1965 began his career at Arctic Cat. In 1982 when Arctic Cat closed for restructuring, Dennis accepted a position with Troy Design in Michigan and continued working for the automotive industry until retirement. His marriage to Marva Lawrence of Thief River Falls in 1960, gave Dennis his 4 children, Debra Walker (husband Tim); Douglas Allen (deceased 1982); Melinda Preuninger (husband Don); and Merideth Griffin (husband Joe). An avid outdoorsman, Dennis lived an active lifestyle ... hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, water and snow skiing, camping, riding bike and playing in a men's softball league for many years. He found true joy in time spent fishing and connecting with people at his beloved "fish camp" at Lighthouse Park in Port Hope over the last 25 years and is affectionately referred to as "the mayor". A positive attitude, offer of encouraging words, and great sense of humor blessed Dennis with many friendships. His 3 daughters gave him 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Their families and that of brother Dalen always appreciated his enthusiasm to participate in their active lives. His three daughters accepted the role of loving caregivers of Dennis through his 7 year battle with cancer and will host gatherings to celebrate Dennis in the two most important places to him.
