DOMBROWSKI, DENNIS W. of Orion passed away July 12th, 2021 at 81 years of age. Loving husband of Ilene for 59 years; dear father of Brian Dombrowski, Lisa Goff, Hollie (Kevin) Navarre, Dennis (Julie) Dombrowski II, and Amy Coutelle; grandfather of 16; great grandfather of 9. Dennis was a Machine Repairman for 28 years at Dana Corp. and 5 years at GKN Automotive. His life "began," he says, when he went on a blind date and met Ilene. This eventually led to another date with a "missing" pair of 79 cent earrings from Woolworth that "must be returned because they were family heirlooms." After that date, "he never left" says Ilene. They had a polish wedding that lasted for 3 days. Ilene was the apple of his eye-the spark between them never grew dull. Dennis enjoyed life to the fullest: a professional drummer, wonderful storyteller, life of the party, East Tawas salmon-fisherman and camper, homemade-beef-jerky maker, kielbasa smoker, and beer maker. He was a lover of smooth jazz, scuba diving, spending time with family, and dancing with Ilene. He and Ilene had their favorite quotes for each other: his were, "I never thought I could love you more, but I do" and "An arm's length away is too far"; hers was, "Why have hamburger when you can have steak?" His fun-loving and intoxicating personality will be dearly missed, but the love he leaves behind will endure forever. A private celebration of life will take place at a later date.
