David LeRoy Suzor, age 77, of Waterford, Michigan, passed away surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 7, 1948, in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Leo Edgar and Gladys May Suzor (née Croster).
David proudly served his country after being drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. A man deeply devoted to his community, David was a co-founder of the Jeremiah Clark Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, serving the Waterford and Clarkston area with pride and dedication. He also spent over 20 years as a volunteer firefighter with the Waterford Fire Department, answering the call to serve and protect his neighbors.
For 45 years, David worked at Trinity Health Oakland in respiratory therapy and security, where his compassion and commitment to helping others left a lasting mark on both colleagues and patients.
David dedicated his life to family and community. He shared a wonderful life with his devoted wife, Katherine L. Suzor (née Goodall) for 54 years. Together they built a loving family and raised two children, David P. (Danielle) Suzor and Christina (Daniel) Hauser. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Emma Hauser, Charlotte Hauser, Addilyn Suzor, Isabella Suzor, and Mackenzie (Kyle) Lemmons.
David is survived by his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings: Marge (the late Claude) Hagerman, Melvin (Jeanne) Suzor, Sharon (Calvin) Griffitts, and Janice (Mark) Leidy. He is also survived by his brother and sister in-laws: Phyllis (Jim) Carlin, Joanna (the late Roger) Barnes, Philip (Marti) Goodall Jr., Robert (Penny) Goodall, and Timothy (Kathleen) Goodall, his father-in-law: Philip E. Goodall, along with many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Marilyn Jean (the late Bill) Horton and Gary (Geri) Suzor; and his sister-in-law Rebecca (Jim) Prevost.
David will be remembered as a man of integrity, kindness, and service. He loved his family deeply, believed in helping others, and found great purpose in building a stronger community. His legacy of love, service, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Coats Funeral Home - Waterford. Family will receive friends from 3-7 PM. A committal service will be held Monday, November 10, 2025, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan at 11 AM.
