HOSLER, Daniel L. "Dan" of Waterford passed away April 30, 2021 at 87 years of age at Canterbury on the Lake. Loving father of Lisa (Terry) Grossbauer, Linda (Rick) Skelton, Mike (Mary) Hosler, Lori Hosler, and Elizabeth Korey; grandfather of Glenn (Marnie) Grossbauer, Nathan (Jen) Grossbauer, Dana (Matt) Daniel, Michael Brooks, Christina Orr, Anna (fiancé Ajay Dhara) Skelton, Bethany Compton, Shayna (Jim Mason) Hosler, Mitch (Tiffany) Hosler, Katherine (Kirk) Nagy, Matthew Korey and great grandfather of 14. Dan graduated from General Motors Institute and worked as an Engineer/Foreman at General Motors for many years before his retirement. Dan was married to Doloras (Dee) on March 1, 1952. They were married for 64 years before her passing on September 2, 2016. He was also preceded in death by his children Dean Paul and Diane Sue, parents Lewis Earl Hosler and Mary Elizabeth (Winks) Hosler, and sister Jeanne Anne (Athey) Sink.Dan was one of the founders of FISH of Greater Pontiac. Dan and Dee were instrumental in starting the warming center in Pontiac. He was a big recycler also known as Mr. Styrofoam. He volunteered with the Boy Scouts of the USA, Girl Scouts of the USA, Oakland Pontiac Enthusiastic Organization, and had a great love of cars especially their beloved Mercedes Gullwing 300 SL. Member of Central United Methodist Church, loving supporter of Spirit of Grace Church.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dan's memory to Habitat for Humanity or a charity of your choice.Because of the COVID pandemic, a private ceremony will be held. This ceremony can be viewed Saturday, May 8th at 1:00 p.m. at the link below.Plans are being made for a memorial service when conditions improve.
