JOHNSON, CONNIE JO, age 72 of Waterford and formerly Saginaw, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022. She was born on April 6, 1949 in Saginaw to parents Jesse and Jean Wardlow.  Connie was a quiet, introspective person who found her greatest joy in caring for others. She was a doting sister and cousin early in life, and mother, mother-in-law and grandmother later. She was known as a talented seamstress with a penchant for baking and antiques and had a knack for nurturing and rehoming any stray domestic or wild animals that came her way.  After her own family was raised, Connie worked as a dental assistant, in retail and as an antique dealer before landing in her true calling as a nanny, and she delighted in watching the children of many families grow and flourish. She will be fondly remembered by many. Connie is survived by children: Marnie (Taichi) McKnight-Tomioka and Jeron (Melanie) McKnight; grandchildren: Noah, Aili, and Audry; siblings: Randy, Rudy, Norma, Terri, and Paul; several nieces and nephews; step-mother Nada; ex-husband, Kenneth Johnson; beloved granddog, Linus. She was preceded in death by both parents; brothers: Donald and James; ex-husband and father of her children: Dennis McKnight. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to the Waterford Senior Center in honor of Connie.
