DESCHAINE, CHARLES ALBERT, age 81 of Waterford, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. He was born on June 16, 1941, in Pontiac. Charles graduated from St. Frederick Catholic High School and later retired from GM after more than 30 years of dedicated service. Charles loved golfing and bowling. He was also a football referee for over 20 years, worked the Pontiac Country Club, and was a member of the Elks Lodge #810 where he ran local and national bowling associations. Charles is survived by his children: Robert (Laurie) Deschaine, Dawn (Michael) Frailey and Steve Deschaine; grandchildren: Kaitlin (Raj), Joshua, Megan, and Emily; and sister, Virginia Deschaine. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Charlotte Elizabeth Deschaine, and brother, William Deschaine. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Waterford. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 4-9pm with a Lodge of Sorrow service starting at 8 pm at COATS FUNERAL HOME – WATERFORD, and again on Thursday at church, one half hour prior to mass, beginning at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels - Waterford in honor of Charles.
