HICKS, CARRIE JEAN, age 79 of Mio, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023. She was born on July 22, 1943 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late James and Lillian (Brooks) Hodge. Carrie loved spending time outside, whether it was working in her garden, watching the birds, fishing, or just relaxing on the porch. She also enjoyed cooking and crocheting. More than anything, she cherished time with her family. Carrie will be lovingly remembered by her children: Patricia White and Scott (Angela) Hicks; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother, James Hodge, Sr; several nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by siblings: Richard Hodge, Churyl Cowan, Mary Forbing, Michael Hodge, and Anita King. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to Dementia Society of America in honor of Carrie.
