BURGESS, CAROLINE J. (nee Wright) passed away August 8, 2022 at 78 years of age. Loving wife of Richard for 54 years; loving mother of Cynthia (Maria Wilson) Burgess, the late Cheryl Burgess, and the late Cassandra Burgess-Filer; grandmother of Laura Burgess-Furlong and Rose Wilson; great grandmother of Bryson Furlong; preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Caroline was an independent and vivacious woman. She was very active with the Northern Oakland County Girl Scouts for over 25 years where she held many leadership positions specializing in training and recruitment. She also was an active volunteer for the Explorers program, an affiliate of the Boy Scouts of America, a learning life skill program for young men and women. Her volunteerism was extensive, as she was an advanced trainer in first aid and CPR for the Red Cross. An avid bird watcher, Caroline, with binoculars in hand and an open bird book would spend hours identifying birds in the back yard.  Caroline was well known and loved for her big personality; huge smile; boisterous laugh; and love of people. She will be forever missed by all who loved her. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 12 noon at  COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD. Family will receive friends Saturday 11 AM until time of service. Donations in her memory may be made to American Diabetes Foundation.
