Obituary

Carol Lee Mott, 80, of Pontiac, Michigan, passed away on July 29, 2024. Born on February 12, 1944, to the late Leland and June (Meister) Luenberger, Carol spent her life enriching the lives of those around her.

Carol was a dedicated server at the old Clarkston Cafe, where she found joy in her work and forged lasting friendships with her coworkers. Her deep love for her family was evident in the way she referred to her children as "Her 3 Stars." She also adored her pet cat, Brea.

Carol cherished the holidays, reveling in the opportunity to dress up for Halloween and cook festive meals for her family on Christmas and Thanksgiving. She was especially known for her incredible coffee cake. Her home, always filled with plants, was a testament to her unmatched love for gardening and her green thumb.

As a dedicated member of Alcoholics Anonymous, Carol was proud of her 25-year journey in sobriety, celebrating 11 years of continuous sobriety before her passing. Her commitment to A.A. and her resilience were sources of immense pride.

Carol loved the beach, particularly family trips to Deer Lake in Clarkston and Independence Oaks. When not at the beach, she enjoyed putting together puzzles and watching Animal Planet, which was a constant presence on her TV.

Carol is survived by her three stars, Gary Mott, Laura Mott, and Jennifer (Jeff) Glass; grandchildren, Carolyn, Samantha, Lyndsey (Sean), Alisha (Jeff), and Michael (Molly); great-grandchildren, Jeniffer, Adalynn, Layne, Olivia, and Amelia; and siblings, Terry (Rosemary), Sally, and Danny (Flora). She is predeceased by her parents, Leland and June Luenberger, and her daughter, Lisa Kay.
