YATES, BILLY of Auburn Hills, passed away April 29, 2020 at 84 years of age. Loving husband of the late Melba; dear father of Billy (Cindy) Yates, Bruce Yates, Robert Yates, and Jennifer Yates; grandfather of 9; great grandfather of 2; brother of Thelma Henry. Preceded in death by 13 siblings. Billy retired from GM in 1997 after 28 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ where he served as an elder for many years and devoted tirelessly his time taking over 23 missionary trips to Ghana, West Africa. When not traveling, Billy enjoyed anything that took him to the great outdoors. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, hunting, and fishing. His life was devoted to his faith and his family. Private burial will be held at Oakland Hills Cemetery in Novi.
